“Yay! We got another booking. Our recent intro offer ad campaign on Facebook is finally working. Hold on, is it actually from Facebook, though?”

Do you often find yourself in this ‘Maybe, Maybe not’ land every time you run a Facebook ad campaign for your studio business and start getting submissions on websites?

Not being able to track Facebook lead conversion can be tricky, but we've got you covered.

Bookee enables Meta ads conversion tracking by sending events to Meta via Pixels. You can track every time someone makes a booking, a purchase, or both.

“Wait, do I need to set up pixels for this?” — Yes. You’ll need to have Meta pixels set up if not already. Here’s why.

Why Set Up Meta Pixels?

It’s a given that running ads on Facebook to increase bookings for your studio is crucial, but what’s more important is doing it right, which means targeting the right audience.

Turning Wins Into a Win-Win

Say you’re running a conversion campaign on Facebook to sell your intro offer, and John ends up purchasing it on your website.

Thanks to Facebook’s algorithm, it can

  1. Tell you that you got one purchase from Facebook
  2. Start showing your ad to people similar to John
  3. Show your other ads to John for retargeting
  4. Give you detailed insights in terms of conversions, ROI, etc

But how does Facebook do all this? Through pixels (a snippet of code inserted in your website’s backend).

Meta Events Conversion Tracking for Fitness Studios

For the reasons above, it’s essential to set up events in Meta that matter to you so that Facebook can track conversions.

What does this mean? If you consider a class booking a conversion, you can track when a booking event takes place.

Here’s how you can do it in 3 simple steps:

Step 1: Set Up Meta Pixels in Ads Manager

1a. Connect data sources: Go to the Events Manager menu > Click ‘Connect Data Sources > Select ‘Web’ as the data source type.

Then click ‘Create New Dataset‘ as per your business or choose from an existing one.

1b. Connect your website: Go to the data sources overview of your pixel > Click on ‘Get Started’ > Connect with a partner your website supports (like Wix) or connect manually (like Duda).

If manual, select ‘Meta pixel only’ > Click ‘Next’ followed by ‘Finish’.

Next, choose ‘Set up Meta Pixel’ under the ‘Gather website events from browser activity’ option.

1c. Get your pixel code: If you use Duda, select ‘Install code manually’.

Copy the code > Click ‘Continue’.

Then turn on ‘Automatic advance matching’.

1d. Set up events: Next, select ‘Open Event Setup Tool’ > Click ‘Go to Pixel Overview’.

After this, simply add your website URL > Click ‘Open Website’.

Step 2: Add Pixel Code to Your Website

Add base code: Log in to your website builder > Go to Settings. Paste the pixel code into the ‘Body end HTML’ section.

In the case of Duda, go to SEO and Settings > Select Head HTML > Paste the code into the Body end HTML.

Step 3: Set Up Events Tracking on the Website

3a. Open Event Set-Up Tool: Go back to your data sources > Head to the ‘Settings’ section of the pixel you set up > Click on ‘Open Event Setup Tool’ > enter the website URL > Go to ‘Open Website’.

This will redirect you to your website, and the Meta events window will appear.

3b. Track a URL: Next, click on Track a URL and start tracking events based on your event type (Booking, Purchase, Book and Purchase). by following three steps:

  • Select an event: You can select Lead/Purchase/Schedule depending on your goal. For example, for only booking events, choose Schedule. For pricing option sale, select Purchase; for form fills, choose Lead.

  • Select URL contains: Copy the portion of the URL you wish to track and paste it as shown below. This step will signal Meta to track a conversion whenever someone visits that URL.

  • Value: Set value to ‘Don’t include value’ > Click on Confirm.

type=sale

type=booking

type=book_purchase

That’s it! You can follow the same steps for the event type you wish to track.

After you set up meta-events conversion tracking for your fitness studio business, here's how it will look.
